The Human Journey Reflected in Art - Part 1

with Anthony McLeod

Egypt.JPG

From Ancient Egypt to Ancient Greece

Every cultural epoch expresses its essence in its creative manifestations, whether in architecture, sculpture and painting. By immersing ourselves in this content we can gain a deeper appreciation for the soul life and consciousness of the people involved, as well as broaden an understanding of our own times as being part of a continuum of unfolding development.

Wherever art emerges from a true artistic conviction it bears witness to the connection of the human being with the supersensible world. Rudolf Steiner

Stories of Hope and Transformation - Fairy Tales to Parzival

with Bernadette White

parzival.JPG

The story curriculum, which culminates with the great hero tale of Parzival, is at the heart of Steiner education.

Each year of the Class Teacher selects curriculum stories which speak to the child’s current age & stage of social & emotional development. Age appropriate stories contribute meaningfully to the growing child's inner life experiences, & their capacities to respond to challenges in their outer life.

With motifs of transformation, possibility, and hope, these stories equip children and young people with soul capacities to help them navigate the troubled and uncertain waters of our time.

Screens - Taking them out of the 'too hard' basket

with Mary Heard

Screens image.JPG

Steiner schools are Heart and Human-centred, developing capacities in the young child to meet the rapidly changing world we live in.

How we protect our children in their formative years has profound implications as they grow up.

This workshop will cover:

  • practical ways to take control of screens in our households
  • how to foster and maintain the important things in our children’s lives like connection, calm, culture and sensitivity
  • inspire new outlooks on ways to view and understand the role of technology in family life

The age range focus will be from birth to 8 years but parents of older children will still find it useful.
